Could better relationships sometimes require us to do a little less talking?
In Part Five of The Prophet, Kahlil Gibran explores teaching, friendship, and conversation—a particularly appropriate topic for a podcast called Dialogue on Dialogue.
Four ideas stood out to me: good teachers help us discover understanding, time with friends is time to live rather than kill, strong friendships can survive some empty space, and not every thought improves when spoken.
Maybe good human connection requires leaving some room—for discovery, independence, and even silence.
Which is probably a good lesson for a guy with a microphone.
Until next time, remember: the answers are older than we are—and just as relevant today.
