The Prophet by Kahlil Gibran: Pleasure, Beauty, and Religion (Part 7)

What if some of the most meaningful parts of life are already right in front of us?

In Part Seven of The Prophet, Kahlil Gibran explores pleasure, beauty, and religion—and connects all three to how well we pay attention to ordinary life.

Four ideas stood out to me: pleasure works best when connected to something worthwhile, the best pleasures don’t have to come at someone else’s expense, beauty depends partly on learning how to see, and what we consider sacred should show up in how we live.

Maybe meaning doesn’t always arrive through extraordinary experiences. Sometimes it’s hiding in useful work, a beautiful morning, laughter, or dinner with people we love.

Until next time, remember: the answers are older than we are—and just as relevant today.
