What if generosity, eating a meal, and going to work are all connected?
In Part Two of The Prophet, Kahlil Gibran takes three ordinary parts of life—giving, eating and drinking, and work—and asks us to see them differently.
Four ideas stood out to me: the greatest gifts usually aren’t things, give from abundance, use what sustains you well, and approach your work as “love made visible.”
We are constantly receiving—from other people, from the natural world, and from opportunities around us. The question is what we do with what passes through our hands.
Receive gratefully. Give generously. And put something of yourself into the work you do.
Until next time, remember: the answers are older than we are—and just as relevant today.
